The Faculty of Sports Sciences has a young and dynamic structure located in the Central Campus of Yalova University, as well as new buildings and sports fields. Within our faculty, there are 2 astroturf pitches, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor, 1 outdoor volleyball court, 1 outdoor basketball court, 1 outdoor tennis court, 1 multi-purpose sports field and 1 field where Far Eastern sports are performed. There is also a fitness center in our faculty building. Our faculty has a young academic structure of 20 people who actively continue both field and theoretical education and training. Our academic staff includes 1 Professor, 6 Associate Professors, 5 Drs. It consists of faculty members, 7 Research Assistants and 1 Lecturer.
There are 3 different departments in our faculty. These are the Department of Recreation, Sports Management and Coaching Education. Within the scope of the Recreation Department, recreation leaders who will enable individuals to actively spend their free time, play an important role in achieving positive gains in the field and are specialized in different fields are trained. Within the scope of the Department of Sports Management, it is aimed to enable students to take part in the management stages of sports with the knowledge they have gained throughout the undergraduate process and to raise individuals who will direct sports in a positive way. Our students who will successfully graduate from the Coaching Education Department will undertake the role of a coach with an active identity on the field by providing gradual training for people in the branches they specialize in.
Faculty of Sports Sciences stands out with its wide range of study opportunities. There are large sports arenas in the public and private sectors where our graduates can take part. While these may be Provincial Directorates of Sports and General Directorate of Sports in the public sector, they may be recreation departments in tourism fields and hotels in the private sector. Having a young and dynamic structure with which we can establish positive communication with our students plays an important role in the successful career planning of candidates who choose our faculty. In addition, the fact that our university is located in the middle of three major cities brings with it a large business field. Our students who gain the necessary experience at our faculty will have a great advantage in evaluating job opportunities. I would like to make some suggestions for candidates who will choose our university and faculty. First of all, our candidates must have an athlete identity, have adopted the understanding of fair-play as their world view, have adopted working with team spirit and must be ready to do their jobs with pleasure, which they will definitely achieve.
